Bruges, Belgium

In the 13th century, Bruges was the leading trade centre of northwestern Europe. Merchants from all over Europe settled in the city and the world’s first ever stock exchange (‘Beurs’ in Dutch) was founded in Bruges.

Walking tour (click on link for details) with Stephanie from Tom’s River New Jersey (go figure), she moved to Burges 4 years (she married a Belgian)

This town so picturesque!  The main square has their iconic Belfry! (Bell Tower).  Lots of cafes in the square!

Burges city centre is protected by Unesco, which means some of the buildings are centuries old/ from medieval times!

We walk to several beautiful squares,
An old hospital, cathedrals and churches!  We stop to taste some chocolate!  So good!
Of course we must stop for a  old beer at the beer bar!  OVERLOOKING the beautiful historic square!
We had a great lunch on the main square and had asian food just off the square for dinner.

We also took a city tour on a minibus where we see some windmills and the oldest pub in town.

We really loved this  beautiful medieval city!
